I am very much looking forward to this reading at Housing Works on Friday.  Lovely bookstore, and it promises to be a lovely event.

I am looking forward to: getting to hear/see folks whose writing I’ve loved on the internet for a long time.

Looking forward to: getting to say hi to folks whose writing I’ve loved for a long time, with whom I’ve shared some nice emails and some tumblr likes and stuff.

Though I am afraid of a lot of this: “Hey, I’m Jaime.  Jaimealyse?  Um… we often “like” each other’s posts on tumblr.  Little brown stripey cat with a white nose, gives haughty looks at the camera?  No?  Okay…  I mean, yeah, you must follow lots of people.  I’m sure.  No, I do, too.  Totally.  I know, ha, I can barely keep track, right?  Lots of scrolling, yeah.  Browsing.  Well.  Um.  Great reading.”

These are the fears we have to face, in this modern world.

Also, I guess this is what happens to kids who are teased a lot when they are little.  They grow up fine, but sort of CRAZY.
