Stop What You’re Doing And Watch The Hell Out Of This of the Day: UC Berkeley’s Noteworthy perform Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” at the 9th Annual West Coast A Cappella Showcase.

If they didn’t win there is no God.

A few things about this:

1. I just saw Lady Gaga’s latest video this weekend, weeks behind the rest of the internet.  Until then, my experience of her work had been mostly through my sister’s intense love.  I liked Gaga, but mostly because my sister does, and I hadn’t seen any reason not to: cool, weirdo fashion; catchy-ass hooks.  But that video is AWESOME.  I’ve heard her compared to a pop music Marilyn Manson, and it’s totally apt.  That weirdo, gorgeous avant-garde aesthetic.  I love it.

2. Through a friend’s new boyfriend, my social circle has recently expanded to include a bunch of dudes who did college a cappella.  I mean, being a theatre, person, they’re scattered throughout my universe, but this is a group of friends who are friends because they were in the same group.  So a cappella was briefly discussed at a jungle-looking bar Saturday night.  That was — I can’t decide whether I want to say “interesting” or “cool.”

3. Back to this video - the guy who sings the chorus is AWESOME.  At least watch it for him.
